#100HappyDays - Day 6

Catching up on my #100happyday posts

Happy Birthday to me!!! well it was my birthday on Day 6  - June 14th.

I am incredible happy to be alive, full of health and to have peace of mind. I'm happy that I finally mustered the courage to begin living my dreams . I tell you that it much harder to go where there's is no path - but the uncertain is much better than the unhappy....everyday is a brand new day.

I am really excited about this year and hoping for the very best -everything will work out in my favor this year  - the road may not be easy but I'll be taking it step by step.

#100HappyDays - Day 5

This past week has been crazy - just one thing after the other - I'm learning to schedule my priorities instead of prioritizing my schedule - trying to focus on the important 1st and then the urgent - ugh! it takes practice... I'm slowly getting there.

Day 5

I'm happy that Goodwill stores and thrift stores in general exists - in the past few months I've bought maybe over 100 books - ok maybe like 60-70 odd books. It is slowly becoming an addiction - the hubby is a lil concern about my side of the bed.
Due to my self diagnosed ADD I'm reading about 10 at the same time.

My top 5 thrift stores for books in the Atlanta area are :

1) American thrift stores - they have a huge selection of books - hardbacks $1.50, paperback $1

2) Goodwill stores - depending on the branch you're bound to find a pretty good selection. - hardbacks $2.92, paperback $1.50

3) Value Village  - the books selections are meh to be honest - but it is $1 per book - you cannot go wrong.

When I can't find the books I want I normally buy online - via Amazon 1cent for used books ($3.99 shipping) or  - usually around $3.999(shipping included) as well.

What I'm reading right now - books on personal development, sales, meditation, food and nutrition.

So yes books makes me happy especially thrift books

Bohyme brazillian wave - rocking my Tracee wig

Meet Tracee - yes she's named after Tracee Ellis Ross. I created her awhile ago but never really blog about her- she's circa 4mths old now and she's still going strong :).

I love wigs - infact every natural should have a wig at home - it's a great protective style, it's fun and often works out cheaper than weave - plus poorly installed weave breaks your hairline - #helloNaomi - ok that was a bad joke -

I'm a sucker for curly hair - It truly takes less effort then straight hair - I'm not very good at flat ironing so I rock fros and curly mostly.

This wig was created using Bohyme Brazilian Wave - I used 2 10inch packs - would go longer but i have to 2 busy chicas that love to tug/pull on everything - so this a great length for mums :)

The curls are usually more defined after you wet/twist - but I the rough can't be arsed curl definition is just right for me

#100HappyDays - Day 3 & 4

Day 3 & 4  - 100HappyDays

Catch-up on day 3 and 4 HappyDays - I'm determined to post daily or at least catchup where I cannot do so.

Ugh! I can't remember day 3 now :( - but day 4 was simply for the sound of music. God bless all the many great artists out there.  I absolutely love listening to music - my playlist is completely random - sometimes I go thru an all gospel phase then move to alternative rock then 90s to rap to funk to afro beats to reggae - ha! it surely keeps my 4yr happy -

so my happy song for Day 4 is Eric Sermon - Just like Music . Thanks Eric!!!

#100HappyDays- Day 2

So I've just realized this task is incredibly easy for me to do -it's really the little things that make me happy - so Day for 2, I have a few but I'll focus on just 1 - ok how about 3 :)
1) Namecheap customer service - so I recently registered a domain with namecheap -30mins later I realized it made better sense to go with Bluehost ( comes with multiple freedomains, better for wordpress etc) . Namecheap states no refund on their website -but I emailed them and they kindly refunded my moolah - no questions asked ;) - now that is awesome! - thank you Namecheap.
2) (prompt delivery) - I placed an order for baby formula via Amazon circa May 27th. The ETA was June 20th -but lo and behold 2 out of 3 boxes arrived today -June 9th - oh what joy!! I can't wait to try the formula.  Now my hope is that me girls love it :)
<sidenote> I've been supplementing with Baby's Only Organic and it's a wee bit constipating -so I'm happy to have found HIPP Organic - not only is it organic but it also works out cheaper -even with international delivery - now that is pure joy.
3) The sounds of my girls babble always makes me smile - it seem like just yesterday that they were born , now look at them - time really does fly - I love my kiddos.

Post from Les Brown - Perseverance

If you're not following Les Brown on facebook then you really need to - he speaks truth . I cannot begin to list the reasons why I think he's gifted - just follow him already -

June 1st post ''

''If it's not one thing...then it's another. At times, it seems that every turn is the wrong one, and nothing is going your way. This is the time to practice patience, faith and determination. The job you lost will be replaced by a career or business that you are passionate about. The person who is no longer a part of your life has made room for someone else who will truly love and respect you.
If it's not one thing... then it's another. Perseverance, drive and moving forward with a positive mindset will help you to survive the storms of life. For now, focus on the bright side. The sun will shine on you again and you will be stronger for going through the storm. One day you'll look back, appreciate the wisdom you gained and the person you became because of these experiences. You have something have GREATNESS within you!'' - Les Brown

Blog direction etc

Yippee it's June 1st - June is my birthmonth - YAY!! I'm all very excited about turning a year older and wiser - YES!!

So re this blog - I've thought of shutting it down and restarting on another platform(likely wordpress) and really having a clear direction on where it is going - but I think i'll keep it and just revamp it a wee bit - so expect to see a few changes here and there . Most people come here for my Marley twist braids - but expect to see more features on healthy living, mummyhood, fitness and ofcourse hair.
My food blog will remain a stand alone blog - I also plan to update frequently so check it out :)

New focus :

Healthy living - this will be centered around Food and Fitness for busy mums. I'll share what I currently do, where i shop, what I eat , my regimen and just tips and habits I've picked along the way

Mummyhood : As a mother of 3 under 4 - it can be tough daily - infact it is exhausting - I promise not to vent much but I'll share our random haps

Fitness : I'm not certified yet but I've read a ton of books on fitness, movement , exercise etc and I'll be sharing what I do - I'm all for impact and not necessarily effort - so you won't find me working out 6 times a week - because quite frankly ain't no busymama got time for that

Hair - As a new mum of twin girls with A LOT of hair i'd say natural hair is definitely here to stay . I wear a lot of protective styles these days(mainly wigs) - but I'll share how I manage my daughters hair - phew! i think i'll need another blog for that :) -

Random stuff - inspiration, quotes, music ,prayer, books , women/girls stuff etc

Who is the blog for? this is for my friends, my sisters, my daughters and shuu all the busymama's out there doing their  thing daily

Why : because i've got plenty to share and I'm really just documenting it for myself :) as I often refer back to my notes

Psalm 147:3 - Thank you lord

Ha! I love how God whispers and lets me know that he's heard my cry -- now I feel like working out  (tehehe it is past midnite) - but I'll squeeze in a quick 20mins HIIT and ST.

He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds.

- Psalm 147:3 (NLT)

2014 is a year that I've consciously tried to master the art of not being controlled by what i see in the physical or the circumstances around me - As long as I stand firm absolutely nothing can/should shake me - I think am about 60% there - phew! hey i'm coming from 0% so 60% at June 1st is great progress -in the past I've operated from a place of fear and sometimes anger - especially when It is justified - but today is from a place of love and without bitterness and judgement  - I'm truly able to see things in better light when I do - and I know that ALL things worketh out for good. I can't control the circumstances around me but I can control what's inside of me - - I'm getting centered and it is truly a great feeling - let's see where I'm at at end of the year  :)
