What are you afraid of?

What  do you fear?Loss of youth, loss of job security, loss of a loved one, loss of income, loss of control, loss of life - Whatever your secret terror, know that all fears arise from the same source: the mistaken perception that we have something to lose at all.

Indeed, when I die, my body will be right here, but the doctor will pronounce: She's gone,' who is gone? Something does leave the body and what leaves is me. I did not bring anything into the world and there is nothing I take when I leave except who I am. Everything else I think I own is rented property, including the body. When you give up your 'materialistic bias' you start to appreciate the wondrous unity and fluidity of existence. You are not the body but the bodymind, not the cells but cell memories, not molecular structures but the intelligence behind structures, not fleeting quantum particles but indestructible vibratory consciousness that assumes infinite forms. All things do pass, but you are eternal. Therefore, what is there to fear?

Word of God speak!!!!

I've missed a few Sunday services now - So much noise going on around me that I feel like turning everything off. I was beginning to go to church for the wrong reasons(network) or perhaps for the sake of attending - whilst it's a fantastic avenue to do so - I do not want to lose focus - I was beginning to lose steam and passion - I don't want church to be another to do Sunday activity - I've had these concerns for the past few months and have struggled with whether it was me or just the church.

The church has been great to me - why do I feel bad for feeling this way ?

Meanwhile -whenever I feel lost I meditate and before I do that I listen to songs like the below-

Some Soul thoughts

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 1 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

I become what I see in myself. All that thought suggest to me, I can do. All that thought suggests to me, I can do.All that thought reveals in me,  I can become. This should be man's unshakable faith in himself because God dwells in him - Sri Aurobindo

If you really want something it becomes a goal and if you put all of your energy towards achieving a goal then you will get it. The problem lies in being 100% positive that it is what you want.

If you feel negative you will attract negativeness. If you feel positive you will attract positive influences.

If we think of defeat, that is what we get, If we are undecided, nothing will happen for us. We must just pick something great to do and do it. Never think of failure at all, for as we think now, that is what we will get - M.Yogi

How to make you own Herbal Infused oils.

So lately I've been paying attention to the ingredients in my products - thus been coming across the terms 'herbal infusions, essential oil blends etc - I particularly was keen on the herbal infusion as I currently use a lot of Ayurvedic herbs/powders. One of the oils I use is the Dabur Amla oil - This oil is amazing - it works wonders and it has really thickened my hair and made it grow a wee bit.

Anyhoo - so as they say too much info is prolly not a good thing or maybe it is - well I read the ingredients and JoJo wasn't a happy bunny err Mineral oil, Paraffinum  Liquidum and some other not so good stuff..- so the chef in me started to look for ways to cook my own oil - and Voila! I stumble upon a few online recipes - and made my very own Amla oil ,

Ingredients
-Amla powder
- Brahmi powder
-Coconut oil
-Grapeseed oil
- Wheat germ oil
-Rosemanry EO
-Lavender EO
-Argan EO

How to
Mix the powders and oil in a clean bowl -preferably glass (i used a pyrex beaker) - you can chose to double boil - but good ole lazy me - covered it with cling film wrapped the beaker with towel (not sure why :) and kept it in a dark cupboard for maybe 48-60hrs.....after which oil has separated from the powders and was was right on top and smelled glorious - I 'wacked' out my cheesecloth(ok nada fancy just used an old stocking) and sieved it into a nice clean bottle - this is now my go to oil for deep conditioning, oil treatments and spritz mix etc - I love it !!

Protective styling - Get up and go style

So just when I thought I couldn't get any lazier - err even wash and gos were becoming a chore so I figured shuu I need to get me hand out of my hair for a month or so - and where do I run to - my good ole Kinky/Nubian twist. Yes this was my transition style - it was quick, easy and looked hot - so I was truly excited to re-do this style - - I searched high and low for the hair but nowhere in this city seems to carry it (Janet Afro Bulk kinky) - so I settled for Femi Afro Soul kinky - not really feeling the results but it's just for a month. I must say I do love being able to just get and go-without hair issues :) - esp with my constant workouts.

below are my results

Rocking the Fro Hawk!!!

Fro-hawk - hmm so been seeing a lot of naturals rocking this style on you-tube and various blogsite - I'm like hmm gotta try this - Given I have no skills at all this simple style prolly took me 15mins to fix - 15mins is a loonggg time to be spending on hair in the morning  - but hey you gotta do what you gotta do.

I must say this makes a a good go to style when you fro is looking all jacked up and you really can't be arsed to fix it :)

Below are the results - I used about 6-7 bobby pins on each side -
